About LEAD
Making a lasting difference in the lives of underserved groups and communities across Zimbabwe through innovative development programs and sustainable solutions.
Rooted in Zimbabwe. Built for sustainable impact.
LEAD is a Zimbabwean-based Non-Governmental Organization that makes a lasting difference in the lives of underserved groups and communities by helping them raise incomes and access basic socio-economic services.
We focus but not limited to four sectors: Food Security, Resilience & Livelihoods, WASH, Health & Nutrition, and Enterprise Development and Commercialization. Our long-term local presence in Zimbabwe has helped us build efficient program management systems and procedures that enable the organization to handle large-scale programs.

Programs designed to carry on beyond funding.
LEAD is known for developing innovative programs with sustainable impacts that carry on beyond donor funded activities.
For example, the concept of the Household Nutrition Gardens, first introduced by USAID/DAI program in Zimbabwe early in 2000, was promoted by LEAD through USAID funding in 2004 to benefit mission hospitals, orphanages and old peoples' homes. This program benefited institutions through revenues while supporting patients/clients affected by HIV and AIDs, vulnerable communities, and local economic development through improved nutrition.
